Job description
Aon Impact Forecasting is seeking a technically oriented professional to develop catastrophe flood models for the (re)insurance industry. This role is suitable for junior professionals or experienced experts in hydrology, statistics, or data science with an interest in flood modeling and data analysis.
Primary responsibilities include analyzing climate and stream-flow data, writing Python scripts to manipulate large datasets, implementing flood event simulation methods, converting modeling outputs to internal platforms, and collaborating with GIS experts, AI analysts, statisticians, and programmers to develop complex flood models.
Required experience includes a university degree in hydrology, statistics, or data science, experience in flood modeling, strong Python scripting skills, technical problem-solving abilities, spatial data processing capabilities, and proficiency in English. Additionally, knowledge of GIS systems, SQL, and experience handling large datasets are highly valued.
