Job description
Compass Lexecon seeks experienced economists to provide expert economic analysis in competition policy, working on high-profile cases for European Commission, courts, and regulators. The ideal candidate will have advanced economic training and strong analytical skills to contribute to complex economic consulting projects.
As an Economist at Compass Lexecon, primary responsibilities include extensively interacting with clients to understand their industry challenges, developing sophisticated theoretical and empirical approaches, conducting detailed economic analysis using quantitative tools like Excel and Stata, managing project operations, and supervising junior staff through comprehensive mentorship.
Candidates must possess exceptional academic credentials, preferably a Ph.D. in economics with a focus on industrial organization or applied econometrics, or a Master's degree with significant competition economics experience. Strong technical skills in statistical analysis, empirical research methods, and economic modeling are essential. Candidates should demonstrate high analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex economic concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Compass Lexecon offers a compelling professional environment with competitive compensation, international exposure to diverse and challenging projects, opportunities for continuous learning through training programs, conference participation, and secondments. The role provides a unique blend of academic rigor and practical consulting experience, allowing economists to work alongside top law firms, corporations, government bodies, and academic institutions while making meaningful economic contributions.
