Jane Street seeks an experienced Network Engineer to help build and maintain their distributed systems infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive networking experience, strong technical skills, and the ability to collaborate across global teams to design, optimize, and support complex network environments.
Primary responsibilities include working on cross-team design efforts for data centers, WAN routing optimization, and other network initiatives, identifying stakeholder requirements, and contributing to active support efforts while automating and simplifying network design to minimize outages.
Required experience includes 7+ years of network infrastructure operations, 3+ years in ground-up network design, expertise in routing protocols like OSPF and BGP, troubleshooting transport protocols, Linux proficiency, programming skills, and ideally experience with overlay networks like EVPN and VxLAN.
